The Crane Wife
I don't have a whole lot to say in this post, but at the request of my fans I will put one up anyway. The title of this blog has no significance in regards to anything I will write, it is simply the title of a CD I highly recommend everyone listen to by The Decemberists, which is sitting directly beside my laptop. This weekend was a pretty damn enjoyable weekend for me. Friday night I was off work and had some people over to watch the Pens game. Very nerve-racking game. In fact, I think Shawn Collins stopped breathing at one point, and in fact may have had an aneurysm when the Pens scored the game winning goal. Well, maybe not an aneurysm, but we def. almost tackled each other onto a cement floor in joy haha. My dog also enjoyed the company during the game and made it a point to try and lick everyone's face and made sure that he rubbed his taint on Shawn's leg at least 5 times (is this where the nickname came from Shawn???), and fell asleep on Brandon mid-game. Good times had by all. Saturday I hungout and watched the NFL Draft...go Steelers! I think they had an overall solid draft. Got a nice player in Mendenhall who somehow slipped to them at #23, and then snagged Ben's tall WR in round 2 with Limus Sweed out of Texas. I also enjoyed the Ryan Mundy pick in the 6th round because he's a local boy. Also picked up the new Mario Kart on Saturday night, awesome fucking game folks! We'll have to play sometime if anyone out there has a Wii with a wi-fi connection. Today was a really good day for me. Went down to the Pens game with my brother and my friends Shawn, Dave, Misty, Steve and Ryan. Tailgated a bit and cooked some food on the mini-grill and then watched the Pens beat the Rags again. We also offered Stan Savran a hamburger but he declined. Who the fuck turns down a FREE, FRESHLY GRILLED, piece of beef? Not a man, thats for sure, so Stan gets my thumbs down for the weekend for his poor decision making *tisk tisk*. After the game I came home, hungout for a little bit and had a hockey game in which we put an absolute beating on a team. The 3 Stars of the game were Shawn Collins (3), me (2) and my brother (1) with his flying goal in mid-air and 5 goals total on the night. Hopefully we can keep it up because the Aztecs are on a roll! Well, I don't have a ton more to say here so I'll go before I say anything stupid because I'm sure, no, I'm HIV positive that this would occur if I continue to write. Goodnight everyone!

Overactive Sweat Glands....Fact or Myth?

The title of this blog and the subsequent photo will only have real meaning to one person, and luckily she is a fan of this blog and will get a nice kick out of it. Other than that, it has no connection to what I'm about to write in any way, shape or form.
Today was another uneventful day for me. I woke up, sat around and then went to work, however I do feel the need to tell you all that The Orphanage is a fucking fantastic movie and I highly recommend you go out and rent NOW. I am so excited to be off work tomorrow, I don't know if there is anyone else out there right now who can truly say they feel this level of joy that I am experiencing....except maybe someone having a 2 girl 1 guy threesome....wanna trade?!?!? Anyway, I came to a stunning realization today that any girl I have an even remote interest in falls into 1 of 4 general categories in my life:
1) This is a person who I have an interest in but is WAY too far out of my league. I generally find myself having an interest in these girls at least once every few months knowing damn well that there is no chance in hell of me ever going on a date with them.
2) This is a girl who I have an interest in personality-wise who lives nowhere near me and I know full well would never work out just based on simple logisitics and other factors that can be added in as well (god damn colleges). I generally encounter this situation every once-in-a-while. This is not a common occurrence, but does happen more than I think I would like to admit, though it has been quite some time since this last came about.
3) This is a girl who is either friends with/was friends with a girl I previously dated, or likes one of my friends. This situation has basically occurred with every girl I've had an interest in over the past 4 years, only occasionally giving way to the other two categories when I'm having some kind of off-day. Honest to God, my friends either have it out for me, or are just extremely lucky mother fuckers who have no clue what they actually have in front of them and end up wasting the opportunity and effectively ruining any of my chances by acting like douchebags.
4) This is the mix-and-match category in which the girl I am interested in my fall into a mixture of the above mentioned categories, which effectively means that you are even more interested based on the growing odds of never, ever having a chance with that person.
Sorry to bitch about my life here, but for some reason today was one of those days where I feel even more lonely than usual and just wish I had someone to share these personal thoughts with other than someone who will make fun of me for it (guy friends). Unfortunately for me, at this current juncture, I do not have someone like this, and will not for the foreseeable future. Fuck. Anyway, like I said I'm off work tomorrow, thank Christ and hopefully the day is better than today...which it should be because the Pens play at 7pm. Lets Go Pens!
Keep 'Em Coming
Well, I must admit that I almost forgot to put up an entry today, but luckily that didn't happen and I can give the masses something to read (all of EDIT: 2 people who I know actually have read this blog). Today was an alright day overall. Got my exam back in Java Programming at BC3 in the second class of my day. I got an A on this test as well, which helps keep my QPA at BC3 sitting at a 4.0 as of this current moment. I should be getting my other exam from Java class back on Friday, so lets hope the confusion I faced at the very end of the exam doesn't end up hurting me too badly. I was very disappointed when I arrived home from class to find that my There Will Be Blood soundtrack still had not shown up at my doorstep. I'm starting to get impatient. I ordered this damn CD last Saturday and it took the seller a good three days to ship it and for some unknown reason, they shipped it Media Mail rather than First Class or Priority Mail which is cheaper and seems to be faster. Dumb bastard. Hopefully it shows up tomorrow because I am dying to sit down and listen to it. The movie itself was incredible and the music really helped mold the story and give you a real feel for the scenes. The soundtrack was done by Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, so you can imagine the flow and sound that this score takes on (thankfully the whiny Thom Yorke voice is not included in this score). After being let down by my CD not being here, I sat around the house for awhile seeing if anyone was interested in the 2 extra Pens tickets I had for Sunday. Finally found two people to buy the tickets and go down to the game with my brother, Shawn Collins and I on Sunday. Thats a load off my mind. Once I had wasted the entire afternoon doing nothing (although I finished Alien vs Predator: Requiem....decent flick!), I made my way to work and was bombarded by calls from people asking me why they didn't have VS on their cable package....uhh, because you didn't buy it maybe??? After this, I decided to use a vacation day on Friday and give myself a long weekend of video games, the NFL Draft and Playoff hockey...should be a great one! After work, I came home to chat online for a bit, write this baby and watch The Orphanage (damn English subtitles), and so far its rather interesting...hopefully I can post up a full review on it tomorrow because I think thats going to be one of my new daily routines on here, movie reviews...possibly music reviews as well each week. Well, that pretty much sums up my uneventful day here in Butler, PA. Hope everyone had a good one and thanks for stopping in!

Voting Day is a Very Dangerous Day
Actually, today was not a dangerous day, but I was desperate for a way to somehow fit a line from Rocko's Modern Life into my blog this evening haha. What a wonderful TV show that was...especially Spunky and Heffer, they just don't make cartoons like that anymore. As I mentioned in the title, today was voting day here in good ol' PA, and I must say I'm more than a little dissapointed in my fellow PA residents. How the FUCK can you honestly vote for a woman who only stuck by her cheating husband because she knew she could use the relationship for personal gain down the road? I'm sorry, but to me, thats a major moral issue. Also, her cackle just drives me insane. Her voice makes Howard Dean's screetch sound like Mozart. I'm very frustrated with this development because it is rare you find a candidate like Mr. Obama who can be charismatic and connect with people when he meets them and in his speeches, and when you do find a politician like that, you nominate him as your party's representative (maybe he can just go on Arsenio Hall and play the sax....oh, someone already did that???). If the democratic voters of this country let this chance pass them by, they will regret it when Hillary "Butch Cut" Clinton loses to John McCain and we have another four years of Republican bullshit.
Sorry about that folks, politics is something I'm very passionate about and I just couldn't let this entry go in without a massive rant about today's developments. On a brighter note, Cloverfield came on DVD today, which makes me extremely happy because I have something to watch tonight in bed (or The Orphanage which I rented at Blockbuster). If you have yet to see Cloverfield, get off your lazy ass, go rent it and enjoy. The DVD includes some nice bonus features, including deleted scenes, alternate endings and a making of documentary. Its def. woth a look if you are at the video store in the next week. Also today, my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins FINALLY found out who they will play in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs....The New York Rangers and Jaromir "Tax Exempt" Jagr (I'm on a roll with the nicknames today so back off). Hopefully the Pens just smoke the Rangers like a dong in San Francisco and move on to the Eastern Conference finals....and hurt Sean Avery in the process...I hate him more than gingivitis (never had it, but assuming its annoying).
Work was rather uneventful tonight, thankfully. I was not really looking forward to going in, but somehow forced myself to go and get through the evening. Friday might be a different story though, as I may use a vacation/sick day and give myself a nice long weekend. Not completely sure yet, but its certainly an option, and a damn good option if you ask me. I have class again in the morning, so its another long day for me....I'm starting to get mentally drained from going to school all day and working all night....its def. taking a toll on me. Thankfully its over soon and I can take my online summer course and just work and hangout with friends whenever I want without worrying about getting up early the next day. Well, not much else to talk about today, so I'm going to just end this before I waste anymore of your time. Have a good one folks!

Welcome Back!
Well, this is going to be interesting. I haven't written one of these beasts in quite some time, so lets hope I can still get my sarcasm and sense of humor across using the English language like I used to. Here you will find my inner-most thoughts about my everyday life (sounds manly doesn't it?) and my random ramblings about things that happen to catch my eye or grind my gears (thanks Peter Griffin!). Well, here goes nothing...
Today was a rather uneventful day in the life of one Wiggidy Wiles. Did the whole school thing in the morning, rested up and went to work for the rest of the day. It was as much fun as AIDS, though I tend to wonder if an STD would be more fun(if fun is really the correct word for this statement) than AIDS. Anyone know? Just kidding...see what I mean about random ramblings? Work was shitty as usual, as was school. The only thing getting me through recently has been Nintendo Wii and the Pittsburgh Penguins....if it wasn't for the prospect of having playoff tickets, I might have burned all my sick/vacation time at work. On the way home from work tonight I called a girl I have only ever talked to online and had NOTHING to say, so that was awkward....kinda felt like an idiot, probably wasted her cell phone minutes on that one. Might have been equal to someone calling and then doing nothing but breathing into the phone haha. Anyway, lets move onto how my weekend was (as I said, today was uneventful). As usual I played way too much damn hockey (won 1, lost 1 and tied 1) and felt like I was living in a 56 year old man's body. Why 56 years old you ask? I don't know, I think thats how old my friends dad is, for some reason that number is sticking in my head and I get the feeling its from a conversation over the weekend but can't put my finger on it. My weekends basically consist of hockey, asinine conversations with my friends about absolutely nothing, watching movies, homework and listening to tons of music. The big album in my CD player/laptop this weekend was Do You Feel by The Rocket Summer. Pretty good disc if you ask me, although most of my friends would label it "bitchy emo" but the lyrics on this one are fairly solid with catchy music. The main movie I watched this weekend was the blu-ray edition of Enemy of the State, which was a fairly high quality transfer to HD. This weeks big movie for me is Cloverfield (thank you JJ Abrams and Jesus for this wonderful film) because on a scale of 1 to awesome, it is the shit (see Shawn Collins for the copyright on that gem), although The Orphanage is going to get some spin time in my blu-ray player once it gets here from Netflix. Well, I think I've rambled about NOTHING long enough, so I'm going to actually watch the movie playing on my TV rather than treating it like an audio book, trying to visualize people and places. Have a good one folks.
