Lord Stanley, Lord Stanley, Get Me the Brandy

So I'm not 100% if everyone is aware or not, but the Stanley Cup Final is taking place between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins as I type these words. Right now the series stands at 2-1 in favor of the Wings (douches) but hopefully that will change tomorrow night at Mellon Arena. Collins and I have tickets to the game and it should be an absolute blast. This is the very first Stanley Cup Final game I will have ever been to, and I'm excited beyond words. The NHL Hall of Fame is going to have trophies such as the Art Ross, Calder, Norris, etc on display at the arena and also they will have interactive games setup outside the arena for everyone to play. It is going to be an absolute blast! The only thing that would have made it better would have been if my brother, cousin and girlfriend also could have got tickets for the game, unfortunately that is not the case. Anyway, I will have a full report of the game (eventually posted here) once I get home. In other news, my girlfriend and I have been together for 3 weeks as of today and I'm not gonna lie, its been the best three weeks ever...absolutely amazing. She's incredible in every way, and we're perfect for one another. Also figure I will mention that other than the Stanley Cup and my fuckin awesome girlfriend, the dek hockey playoffs start tomorrow. My team plays at 1:00pm vs Cummings Coffee Shop. We should trash them and move onto round 3 which would be played Sunday against an undetermined opponent. The Aztecs are looking to go balls deep into the playoff bracket this season. Well, thats all for tonight....I promise I will try to post a little more frequently once the NHL playoffs are over, but until then, this baby is no the backburner. Have a good one kids.

Where Have I Been?

Alright, so I finally got off my lazy ass and have garnered enough motivation to actually write another blog. Actually, the real reason I am writing this is because I'm not hanging out with my girlfriend and am extremely bored because of that, and decided to heed the advice of one Shawn Collins and write a new blog. Its been an exciting two week period for me. The Pittsburgh Penguins are kicking some serious ass (fuck you Filthadelphia!) and have made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals, I have tickets to Game 4 on 5/31/08, my girl and I have been together two weeks (woooo!) and she and I will be going down to Mellon Arena on Saturday to watch the game on the scoreboard. Its going to be awesome. Its basically been the best two week span of my life, I'm not even gonna lie (I've been as happy as Mark Messier in this picture), so if you see me driving my truck and singing, you'll know I'm in a damn good mood! My dek hockey team has a bye this weekend since we finished second overall in our conference, and we look forward to absolutely shit-stomping someone next weekend as we make our run at a championship (would be my first since the ancient days of The Blades....aka....the best dek hockey team ever assembled in human history). I also have just noticed that I use parenthesis WAAAAAY too much, so please excuse all of them that have been used in this blog up until this point, I went a little overboard there. Tonight at work, all our phones went down, so that pretty much rocked because I didn't have to listen to inbreds, assholes, douche bags and others bitch about their bills or order service for almost 2 hours. It was awesome. The only thing that would have made it better was if the fuck heads I work for would finally give me the raise they gave EVERYONE ELSE HIRED AFTER ME!!!! FUCK!!!....breathe Matt, breathe....sorry about that folks, but I've been highly irritated at work over the whole pay rate ordeal I've been waiting to talk to my supervisor about tomorrow. I'm also debating about whether to look for another job or not, the only reason I may not, is just because I know what I'm doing, and the free cable really does kick major ass, but other than that, I really hate dealing with people on the phone and the only thing that forces me into work each day is seeing Ashley's smile at work when I first get there, and when we move our cars at 7pm. I'm really stoked to see the new Indiana Jones (anyone wanna go Sunday?...damn parenthesis....) because it looks awesome....hopefully it is, or I'm going to be highly upset. Anyway, I'm gonna go watch Strange Wilderness for the 3rd time in two days because its hysterically funny. Have a nice weekend everyone, hopefully I write again in the next few days.

You Make Me Smile...and News on My CD

So I know that in all our lives we have heard the following about relationships and meeting that certain someone: "something will come up when you aren't looking," or "it will happen when you least expect it." Well folks, I am here to say that phrase is true....and I mean 100% true, people. When I absolutely least expected it, I met one of the nicest, most beautiful (she has incredibly beautiful eyes), most amazing girls I have ever had the privilege of knowing. How the hell did it take me this long to get to know her?!?!? I would probably assume its because I'm an idiot...or at least that would account for 80% of the reason I had never mustered up enough courage to talk to her at work. I do know this though, the very first time we had an in depth conversation, I was so happy and excited that I could not sleep, and as it stands now, probably wouldn't be able to sleep without text messaging her before I fall asleep (and when I wake up...and at 11:11)....my guy friends are going to vomit after reading this blog btw....oh well fuck it, they feel the same about other people so I'm allowed to voice my emotions here. OK, I will end this portion of the blog right there because anything else I would like to say about her, will just have to stay between us. I will however mention a few more things. First of all, I FINALLY got a copy of the There Will Be Blood soundtrack in the mail. After having to threaten a dispute online with one seller and getting a refund, I actually found another seller on Amazon who was cheaper, and had it here within a week of ordering it. The music on this disc is amazing. I can't stop listening to it. You can just sense the emotion in each song and each song is very intense sounding. Everyone needs to check out this soundtrack. The last thing I would like to mention here is FUCK YOU FLYERS!!! LETS GO PENS!!!

Monday...Holy Fuck

Holy fuck I hate Monday...and I know everyone who reads this will feel the same. Monday has no place on this Earth, although I suppose if we didn't have Monday, we would all despise Tuesday, and thats certainly not Tuesday's fault, so lets not heap that burden on him OK? Speaking of Holy fuck, how about them Pens?!?! We are witnessing something special here people. This team has what it takes to go all the way and bring the Cup back home to Pittsburgh, and I can't think of a better way to do it, than going through Philly at some point. I hate them more minorities hate legal citizenship (ouch! just kidding...I meant to say legal jobs!). Well, now that I got that stereotype out of the way, and bashed the Flyers, lets move on to bigger and better things. My day was a god damn roller coaster ride of fun and mental anguish. First, I had a test in Java Programming (again), which I think I did well on, it was just a lot of thinking that I would otherwise not do prior to lunch, especially on a Monday (holy fuck!). After my class, I switched majors at BC3 from Computer Technology: Transfer, to Computer Technology: PC and Network Specialist, I figure I might as well get an actual Associates Degree while I'm there and go back to school for the Bachelors once I find a real job. My evening went a little downhill because you see, there's this girl....very nice girl, very pretty, very fun to talk to, but I think I upset her at work, although she won't admit this, my gut tells me I'm right, and if that is the case, I'm very sorry (if she's reading this tonight). I will say nothing more on this subject because its no one else's business(doesn't that defeat the purpose of a blog though?!?!)...and she makes me smile, 'nuff said. Before I finally finish this post and go away for the evening, I feel compelled to tell everyone of the hero that is Stephen Wiles (and myself to a certain extent). With our dek hockey team down 4-3, with our team shorthanded, I hit my brother cutting across center dek with a pass that couldn't have been any more perfect, sending him on a breakaway to tie the game on a nasty ass deke that left the 1930's style goalie's jock strap somewhere on Sawmill Run Road. This all occurred in the middle of a monsoon, which the aforementioned female had braved in order to watch our game :-)....of course 1 minute later my defensive ability was called into question, when rather than fucking someone's day up in front, I allowed the winger to cut right to the net and score the game winner....fuck me I felt like trash, I let the whole team down on that play...the only good thing that came from it is this: I will NEVER allow that to happen again, and will knock someone's teeth out in front of the net before I allow them to score like that (if anyone needs dental work let me know!). Well, I can't think of much else to say so I'm going to let everyone get on with their lives and stop reading about the lameness that is Wiggidy's World.

Mr. Iraqi

As you may have noticed from previous editions of this blog, that the titles of my actual entries have very little, if anything to do with what my mind comes up with when I put my fingers on the keyboard and go to town. This title is dedicated to Ashley "Baby Penguin" Conklin who, at work tonight, classified a customer as "Mr. Iraqi" because she couldn't understand what language he was speaking on the phone. I thought it was hilarious, and therefore added it as the title to this entry. Today was another uneventful day in the life of Wiggidy Wiles, other than my There Will Be Blood soundtrack NOT coming AGAIN. I'm really starting to get irritated and I've tried to contact the seller three times no with no response. I'm going to fly out to Washington state, find this mother fucker and kick him/her in the penis/vagina. There is no way it should take a CD two weeks or more to get here, when every other item I have purchased from sellers on Amazon comes within 8 days. I may just send it back when it does get here and go buy it from someone else, just so this prick doesn't get my money. Can you tell this has touched a nerve? My new digital camera shipped today from QVC, which means in theory, my camera (ordered on Sunday) may actually arrive before this CD that was ordered on 4/15/08. Ok, I'm going to stop bitching about this CD issue. I bought Grand Theft Auto 4 this week, and I must say, its a highly addictive video game that everyone would enjoy....especially the jackasses at Fox News who feel the game is ruining our country. No, I'll tell you what is ruining this country, its the holier than thou, Bible thumping, extreme religious right who have run the country for the past 7 1/4 years and ran the economy into the ground and got us stuck in a war that will NEVER end....but I suppose Grand Theft Auto may play a part in that though. Sorry I've gone on a few rants in this blog, but I have nothing else to talk about, but before I end this post I will say this..

GO PENS! F*CK YOU RANGERS!

The Crane Wife

I don't have a whole lot to say in this post, but at the request of my fans I will put one up anyway. The title of this blog has no significance in regards to anything I will write, it is simply the title of a CD I highly recommend everyone listen to by The Decemberists, which is sitting directly beside my laptop. This weekend was a pretty damn enjoyable weekend for me. Friday night I was off work and had some people over to watch the Pens game. Very nerve-racking game. In fact, I think Shawn Collins stopped breathing at one point, and in fact may have had an aneurysm when the Pens scored the game winning goal. Well, maybe not an aneurysm, but we def. almost tackled each other onto a cement floor in joy haha. My dog also enjoyed the company during the game and made it a point to try and lick everyone's face and made sure that he rubbed his taint on Shawn's leg at least 5 times (is this where the nickname came from Shawn???), and fell asleep on Brandon mid-game. Good times had by all. Saturday I hungout and watched the NFL Draft...go Steelers! I think they had an overall solid draft. Got a nice player in Mendenhall who somehow slipped to them at #23, and then snagged Ben's tall WR in round 2 with Limus Sweed out of Texas. I also enjoyed the Ryan Mundy pick in the 6th round because he's a local boy. Also picked up the new Mario Kart on Saturday night, awesome fucking game folks! We'll have to play sometime if anyone out there has a Wii with a wi-fi connection. Today was a really good day for me. Went down to the Pens game with my brother and my friends Shawn, Dave, Misty, Steve and Ryan. Tailgated a bit and cooked some food on the mini-grill and then watched the Pens beat the Rags again. We also offered Stan Savran a hamburger but he declined. Who the fuck turns down a FREE, FRESHLY GRILLED, piece of beef? Not a man, thats for sure, so Stan gets my thumbs down for the weekend for his poor decision making *tisk tisk*. After the game I came home, hungout for a little bit and had a hockey game in which we put an absolute beating on a team. The 3 Stars of the game were Shawn Collins (3), me (2) and my brother (1) with his flying goal in mid-air and 5 goals total on the night. Hopefully we can keep it up because the Aztecs are on a roll! Well, I don't have a ton more to say here so I'll go before I say anything stupid because I'm sure, no, I'm HIV positive that this would occur if I continue to write. Goodnight everyone!

Overactive Sweat Glands....Fact or Myth?

The title of this blog and the subsequent photo will only have real meaning to one person, and luckily she is a fan of this blog and will get a nice kick out of it. Other than that, it has no connection to what I'm about to write in any way, shape or form.

Today was another uneventful day for me. I woke up, sat around and then went to work, however I do feel the need to tell you all that The Orphanage is a fucking fantastic movie and I highly recommend you go out and rent NOW. I am so excited to be off work tomorrow, I don't know if there is anyone else out there right now who can truly say they feel this level of joy that I am experiencing....except maybe someone having a 2 girl 1 guy threesome....wanna trade?!?!? Anyway, I came to a stunning realization today that any girl I have an even remote interest in falls into 1 of 4 general categories in my life:

1) This is a person who I have an interest in but is WAY too far out of my league. I generally find myself having an interest in these girls at least once every few months knowing damn well that there is no chance in hell of me ever going on a date with them.

2) This is a girl who I have an interest in personality-wise who lives nowhere near me and I know full well would never work out just based on simple logisitics and other factors that can be added in as well (god damn colleges). I generally encounter this situation every once-in-a-while. This is not a common occurrence, but does happen more than I think I would like to admit, though it has been quite some time since this last came about.

3) This is a girl who is either friends with/was friends with a girl I previously dated, or likes one of my friends. This situation has basically occurred with every girl I've had an interest in over the past 4 years, only occasionally giving way to the other two categories when I'm having some kind of off-day. Honest to God, my friends either have it out for me, or are just extremely lucky mother fuckers who have no clue what they actually have in front of them and end up wasting the opportunity and effectively ruining any of my chances by acting like douchebags.

4) This is the mix-and-match category in which the girl I am interested in my fall into a mixture of the above mentioned categories, which effectively means that you are even more interested based on the growing odds of never, ever having a chance with that person.

Sorry to bitch about my life here, but for some reason today was one of those days where I feel even more lonely than usual and just wish I had someone to share these personal thoughts with other than someone who will make fun of me for it (guy friends). Unfortunately for me, at this current juncture, I do not have someone like this, and will not for the foreseeable future. Fuck. Anyway, like I said I'm off work tomorrow, thank Christ and hopefully the day is better than today...which it should be because the Pens play at 7pm. Lets Go Pens!

Keep 'Em Coming

Well, I must admit that I almost forgot to put up an entry today, but luckily that didn't happen and I can give the masses something to read (all of EDIT: 2 people who I know actually have read this blog). Today was an alright day overall. Got my exam back in Java Programming at BC3 in the second class of my day. I got an A on this test as well, which helps keep my QPA at BC3 sitting at a 4.0 as of this current moment. I should be getting my other exam from Java class back on Friday, so lets hope the confusion I faced at the very end of the exam doesn't end up hurting me too badly. I was very disappointed when I arrived home from class to find that my There Will Be Blood soundtrack still had not shown up at my doorstep. I'm starting to get impatient. I ordered this damn CD last Saturday and it took the seller a good three days to ship it and for some unknown reason, they shipped it Media Mail rather than First Class or Priority Mail which is cheaper and seems to be faster. Dumb bastard. Hopefully it shows up tomorrow because I am dying to sit down and listen to it. The movie itself was incredible and the music really helped mold the story and give you a real feel for the scenes. The soundtrack was done by Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, so you can imagine the flow and sound that this score takes on (thankfully the whiny Thom Yorke voice is not included in this score). After being let down by my CD not being here, I sat around the house for awhile seeing if anyone was interested in the 2 extra Pens tickets I had for Sunday. Finally found two people to buy the tickets and go down to the game with my brother, Shawn Collins and I on Sunday. Thats a load off my mind. Once I had wasted the entire afternoon doing nothing (although I finished Alien vs Predator: Requiem....decent flick!), I made my way to work and was bombarded by calls from people asking me why they didn't have VS on their cable package....uhh, because you didn't buy it maybe??? After this, I decided to use a vacation day on Friday and give myself a long weekend of video games, the NFL Draft and Playoff hockey...should be a great one! After work, I came home to chat online for a bit, write this baby and watch The Orphanage (damn English subtitles), and so far its rather interesting...hopefully I can post up a full review on it tomorrow because I think thats going to be one of my new daily routines on here, movie reviews...possibly music reviews as well each week. Well, that pretty much sums up my uneventful day here in Butler, PA. Hope everyone had a good one and thanks for stopping in!

Voting Day is a Very Dangerous Day

Actually, today was not a dangerous day, but I was desperate for a way to somehow fit a line from Rocko's Modern Life into my blog this evening haha. What a wonderful TV show that was...especially Spunky and Heffer, they just don't make cartoons like that anymore. As I mentioned in the title, today was voting day here in good ol' PA, and I must say I'm more than a little dissapointed in my fellow PA residents. How the FUCK can you honestly vote for a woman who only stuck by her cheating husband because she knew she could use the relationship for personal gain down the road? I'm sorry, but to me, thats a major moral issue. Also, her cackle just drives me insane. Her voice makes Howard Dean's screetch sound like Mozart. I'm very frustrated with this development because it is rare you find a candidate like Mr. Obama who can be charismatic and connect with people when he meets them and in his speeches, and when you do find a politician like that, you nominate him as your party's representative (maybe he can just go on Arsenio Hall and play the sax....oh, someone already did that???). If the democratic voters of this country let this chance pass them by, they will regret it when Hillary "Butch Cut" Clinton loses to John McCain and we have another four years of Republican bullshit.

Sorry about that folks, politics is something I'm very passionate about and I just couldn't let this entry go in without a massive rant about today's developments. On a brighter note, Cloverfield came on DVD today, which makes me extremely happy because I have something to watch tonight in bed (or The Orphanage which I rented at Blockbuster). If you have yet to see Cloverfield, get off your lazy ass, go rent it and enjoy. The DVD includes some nice bonus features, including deleted scenes, alternate endings and a making of documentary. Its def. woth a look if you are at the video store in the next week. Also today, my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins FINALLY found out who they will play in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs....The New York Rangers and Jaromir "Tax Exempt" Jagr (I'm on a roll with the nicknames today so back off). Hopefully the Pens just smoke the Rangers like a dong in San Francisco and move on to the Eastern Conference finals....and hurt Sean Avery in the process...I hate him more than gingivitis (never had it, but assuming its annoying).

Work was rather uneventful tonight, thankfully. I was not really looking forward to going in, but somehow forced myself to go and get through the evening. Friday might be a different story though, as I may use a vacation/sick day and give myself a nice long weekend. Not completely sure yet, but its certainly an option, and a damn good option if you ask me. I have class again in the morning, so its another long day for me....I'm starting to get mentally drained from going to school all day and working all night....its def. taking a toll on me. Thankfully its over soon and I can take my online summer course and just work and hangout with friends whenever I want without worrying about getting up early the next day. Well, not much else to talk about today, so I'm going to just end this before I waste anymore of your time. Have a good one folks!

Welcome Back!

Well, this is going to be interesting. I haven't written one of these beasts in quite some time, so lets hope I can still get my sarcasm and sense of humor across using the English language like I used to. Here you will find my inner-most thoughts about my everyday life (sounds manly doesn't it?) and my random ramblings about things that happen to catch my eye or grind my gears (thanks Peter Griffin!). Well, here goes nothing...

Today was a rather uneventful day in the life of one Wiggidy Wiles. Did the whole school thing in the morning, rested up and went to work for the rest of the day. It was as much fun as AIDS, though I tend to wonder if an STD would be more fun(if fun is really the correct word for this statement) than AIDS. Anyone know? Just kidding...see what I mean about random ramblings? Work was shitty as usual, as was school. The only thing getting me through recently has been Nintendo Wii and the Pittsburgh Penguins....if it wasn't for the prospect of having playoff tickets, I might have burned all my sick/vacation time at work. On the way home from work tonight I called a girl I have only ever talked to online and had NOTHING to say, so that was awkward....kinda felt like an idiot, probably wasted her cell phone minutes on that one. Might have been equal to someone calling and then doing nothing but breathing into the phone haha. Anyway, lets move onto how my weekend was (as I said, today was uneventful). As usual I played way too much damn hockey (won 1, lost 1 and tied 1) and felt like I was living in a 56 year old man's body. Why 56 years old you ask? I don't know, I think thats how old my friends dad is, for some reason that number is sticking in my head and I get the feeling its from a conversation over the weekend but can't put my finger on it. My weekends basically consist of hockey, asinine conversations with my friends about absolutely nothing, watching movies, homework and listening to tons of music. The big album in my CD player/laptop this weekend was Do You Feel by The Rocket Summer. Pretty good disc if you ask me, although most of my friends would label it "bitchy emo" but the lyrics on this one are fairly solid with catchy music. The main movie I watched this weekend was the blu-ray edition of Enemy of the State, which was a fairly high quality transfer to HD. This weeks big movie for me is Cloverfield (thank you JJ Abrams and Jesus for this wonderful film) because on a scale of 1 to awesome, it is the shit (see Shawn Collins for the copyright on that gem), although The Orphanage is going to get some spin time in my blu-ray player once it gets here from Netflix. Well, I think I've rambled about NOTHING long enough, so I'm going to actually watch the movie playing on my TV rather than treating it like an audio book, trying to visualize people and places. Have a good one folks.
